Event Recap: Just Cause 2013
Dec 2nd, 2013
Just Cause 2013 was an absolute success! The concert – held at Tropicalia and headlined by Fly Rebel Society – featured some superb performances by Husky Hazel, Monty Cold, Darren Hanible and Marco The Brand – all with the common goal of raising funds to make a donation towards Santa Cause.
The turnout was amazing. Family, friends and fans came out in droves to show their support for their favorite artists.
Our beautiful host for the night, Toni (@misstonic813) did an incredible job keeping the event moving and engaging the artists and audience all night. Everyone loved her!
DJ Heat (@DJHeatDC) kept the crowd hype all night as well by spinning some of the hottest music out right now.
The event got underway when Husky Hazel (@HuskyHazel) took the stage to perform an amazing set – complete with a live band! Check out the snippet of his cover of Musiq SoulChild’s “Just Friends (Sunny)”.
Next up was Monty Cold (@coldforshort), who took the trip from out-of-state to deliver a dope set!
Darren Hanible (@darrenhanible) was completely dope and the crowd was definitely enjoying his performance.
Mr Santa Cause himself, Mo Betta (@betta_mo) took to the stage to remind everyone why we were really there for the night. He spent a few minutes discussing the Santa Cause mission and how we could further support the charity.
The featured act and lone R&B artist on the bill, Marco The Brand (@Marco_TheBrand) performed some tracks from his latest release “Temporary Forevers” (stream/download). Check out the clip of him performing a fan favorite “Hot Box” from “Karma” (stream/download).
Last and certainly not least, the headliners took the stage. Fly Rebel Society performed a mix of hits from “The FRESH Effect” (iTunes/Amazon) as well as some currently unreleased (or should I say soon to be released *hint) tracks. That’s wasn’t all though! If you were in the building you found out that Cooley does a mean salsa, you witnessed a nasty freestyle battle between Lega-c and godlymC, and just in case you forgot, they took the time to remind everyone…
Respect to every single person who came through to support the event!
